Privacy Notice
As Famak Zımpara Makina San. Tic. Ltd. Şti., this notice explains for what purposes we process your personal data, to whom we transfer it and what your rights are.

1. Data controller
Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), your personal data is processed by Famak Zımpara Makina San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. (“Famak”) as data controller within the scope described below.

2. Personal data processed
When you visit our website, contact us or meet us at trade fairs, the following categories of data may be processed:
- Identity and contact: name, company name, job title, phone number, email address, country/city
- Request details: the content of messages you send via the quote form, email, phone or WhatsApp, and technical information such as the material you process, part dimensions and production quantity
- Customer transaction data: quote, order, shipment, installation, service and spare parts records
- Job application data: CV and the education and work experience details you share when applying
- Transaction security: server logs such as IP address, browser and device information, date and time of visit
3. Purposes of processing
Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:
- Receiving, assessing and responding to your quote and information requests
- Determining the right machine configuration for you and handling quotation and contract processes
- Providing sales, shipment, installation, training, service and spare parts
- Planning trade fair and visit meetings
- Assessing job applications
- Ensuring website security and fulfilling legal obligations
- Sending product, trade fair and campaign announcements, where you have given explicit consent
4. Collection method and legal grounds
Your personal data is collected partly by automated and partly by non-automated means through the quote form on our website, email, phone, WhatsApp, trade fairs and face-to-face meetings, and server logs.
This data is processed on the following legal grounds under Article 5(2) KVKK:
- Directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract (Art. 5/2-c)
- Necessary for the data controller to fulfil its legal obligations (Art. 5/2-ç)
- Establishment, exercise or protection of a right (Art. 5/2-e)
- Our legitimate interest, provided it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms (Art. 5/2-f)
- Your explicit consent for marketing communications (Art. 5/1)
5. Transfer of personal data
Limited to the purposes above, your personal data may be transferred under Article 8 KVKK to suppliers providing website hosting, email and IT services, to shipping and logistics companies, to our accountants and legal advisers, and, upon request, to authorised public bodies.
Requests from the United States may be handled by our US sales partner Industrade Network. The servers of suppliers providing hosting, email and communication services may be located abroad. In such cases, transfers abroad are made in accordance with the conditions set out in Article 9 KVKK.
6. Retention period
Your personal data is stored for as long as the purpose of processing requires and for the statutory retention periods set out in the relevant legislation. At the end of these periods it is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.
7. Cookies
Our website uses necessary cookies for the site to work. Functional cookies required for third-party content such as Google Maps are activated only if you give consent in the cookie notice. For details, please see our Cookie Policy.
8. Your rights under Article 11 KVKK
As a data subject, you may contact us at any time to:
- Learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, request information about it
- Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used in line with that purpose
- Know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred
- Request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate
- Request deletion or destruction under the conditions of Article 7 KVKK
- Request that correction, deletion and destruction be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred
- Object to an outcome against you resulting from analysis exclusively by automated systems
- Claim compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing
9. How to apply
You can submit requests regarding your rights in writing to our address above, or from the email address registered with us to info@famakmakina.com.tr, in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller.
Your application should include your name, Turkish ID number (for foreign nationals: nationality and passport number), postal address for notifications, email and phone if available, and the subject of your request. Requests are concluded free of charge within 30 days at the latest.
